I, Necromancer: Chapter 3, Page 11

Warning: this may be a tough scene if bullying is a trigger for you. You can use  the Archives to skip ahead to the next scene or read recaps and previous scenes. In the meantime, we’ll be getting to the core of who Piotr is in this chapter, and that means facing the ugly moments too.

This was a hard scene to write and sort of a terrifying scene to watch come to life. Hard, but important in looking back at one of the most important moments of Piotr’s life. I have a soft spot for this character, which is weird: usually I don’t feel guilty about imagining terrible things happening to characters that I write. This was a tough one! It helps that the folks I work with — Mharz and Snowdon — they’re amazing and what they’ve done here is fantastic.

As always, the scariest monsters are human beings.

I would not feel super bad if Vanion Deus Ex Machina showed up and got freaky (in the scary way mind you) with these fools! And I’m not usually an advocate for violence but I can’t stand bullies…

If anyone deserves to get necromancered, it’s definitely these guys. They’re the worst. And I’ve also known plenty of people just like them in the real world, unfortunately.

Wow. This really is a hard scene but with the current climate of our own world, important subject matter to face head on.
