It is the year 2946 of the Third Age, and the lands east of the Misty Mountains are a stir. From the cloud-shrouded peaks above the High Pass to the spider-infested gloom of the forest of Mirkwood, paths long-deserted are trodden once again. King Bard sees his new kingdom surrounded by good fertile land to be settled, but the Desolation of the Dragon left terrible scars on the world, and all the old maps were burnt. He needs heroes to go out and map the borders of his new kingdom, and an ancient Elven village lost in Mirkwood, Redvale.
The Fellowship were travelling through Mirkwood when they scouted a river barge travelling along a River. They were hailed by friends, as the Rivermen of Lochmere invited them to travel with them. Toradan was their leader, and gave them safe passage. It was not long however, before they were ambushed by Orcs along the bank. Barely escaping with their lives, the Fellowship reached the safe haven of Lochwood, where they decided to head further West to meet with Beorn. Travelling with Toradan, they parted ways as they entered Beorn’s lands. They were stopped by a band of Beornings lead by one Brokken who gave them a challenge to prove themselves. If they could kill a band of roving orcs in their lands, they would be allowed to meet with Beorn. Tracking a band of Orcs through the night, Bartleby drugged the Orcs and cut their throats. They were given entrance to Beorn’s camp, but learnt that the Dark Emissary had envoys here, and was turning young Beornings away to the Darkness. They broke into the Dark Emissary’s embassy, and fought with two tall men clad in black iron, and captured their leader, Vossler. Vossler told them that Agandaur, one of Sauron’s Lieutenants, led them.
