“What is the sound of falling? Is it the wind rushing by your ears, or is it the terrorized scream leaving your lungs?”

“What is the sound of falling? Is it the wind rushing by your ears, or is it the terrorized scream leaving your lungs? Hope you should never find out. I’ve passed through those lonely mountain cliffs and know that none would be there to share. It is a barren place with a sound so empty that it muffles even the crunch of fresh snow under your boots. Air so thin that it can hardly carry words.

“Not too many are brave enough to travel there on foot. Its not worth it. Hardly enough on the other side to warrant such things, such narrow ways. I tell you, I tell you now because you are fool. Do not go through the pass. It will tell you what it sounds like to fall. It will tell you with your own mouth and ears.”
